“Our human-grade status is a major differentiator. Our products are made in a human food facility on the exact same equipment used to produce various foods people eat. That really strikes a chord with consumers and sets us apart from lower quality, feed-grade manufacturers.

We’re extremely selective when it comes to our suppliers, too. We’ve worked with many of the same producers since we began in 2002 and insist that all suppliers sign an annual “Vendor Pledge” to provide assurance of the quality and integrity of the ingredients we buy. We won’t use GMO or irradiated ingredients, and don’t accept any ingredients from China.

We also don’t allow our products to be sold in stores that sell puppies; I’m strongly opposed to the puppy mill trade and believe that a responsible breeder’s animals would never end up in a shop (or a shelter).”

The story below that is quoted is not that unusual. In Newport Beach California there is a store that daily makes homemade healthy dog food called REAL FOOD FOR DOGS. They also freeze and ship their food as well as deliver within the local area.

In a bad economy it is a surprise but it may also be dog owners wanting to spend on keeping their dog healthy and saving on Veterinary  and medication expenses.

BeuteFuchs sources its organic meat from verified organic farms all over Germany. Meat varieties include organic beef, organic lamb, organic chicken and organic turkey, as well as venison, duck and goose in season. The complete menu includes offerings such as organic grain-free muscle meat with a vegetable-fruit mix and high-quality oil. The store’s staff are available to offer advice and feeding plans based on each individual dog’s needs, and food is available freshly prepared or frozen. Many people are now making homemade dog food, however some people are not sure about recipes and cooking techniques.

Much of this will depend on your own dog’s sensitivity to the various ingredients.A safe bet to try is organic brown rice as most dogs easily tolerate that. From there you can use chicken, beef carrots and even broccoli or peas.

Vegetables are best roasted or cooked until soft the mixed with the rice and meat.

A tip for making sure your dog get enough calcium is to grind up tums and place the powder in the food. Some dogs will even eat the flavored tums without being ground up.

Luckily, there is a special category of treats for dogs that are sensitive to certain common canine food ingredients, chemicals, and additives. These are known as hypoallergenic dog treats.

What are hypoallergenic dog treats, you ask? Simply put, they are dog treats that do not contain ingredients that generally cause allergy symptoms in dogs. This means it is devoid of ingredients such as corn, wheat, beef, chicken, soy, or dairy, and generally chemicals and additives, and usually contains grains such as rice, bran, or whole oats, and meats like salmon, bison, lamb, or venison. It is best to know exactly what your dog is allergic to before you purchase a specific type of hypoallergenic dog treat.

Depending upon what your dog is allergic to, there are all sorts of options for hypoallergenic dog treats. Locally, they can be found at a holistic pet food store, or even an organic grocer such as Whole Foods or Trader Joes. If you’re willing to look on line, however, the sky’s the limit on the number of brands and varieties of hypoallergenic dog treats you can find. If your dog is a family pet, there is even a fun and cheap way to make homemade summer time hypoallergenic dog treats with your kids. All you need is flax seed, a banana, vanilla yogurt (do not use non-fat), and an ice tray. Simply take two cups of the yogurt, three tablespoons of flax seed, and the banana and place them in the blender. Blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy, and place them into the ice tray. Freeze the mixture until frozen solid, and you have the perfect summer time hypoallergenic dog treat for your parched pooch. You can even switch up the recipe and substitute blueberries, strawberries, or even peanut butter!  With all of these hypoallergenic dog treat options, there is no reason your dog, whether it has allergies or not, should ever have to go without a delicious reward again!
