Why do people feed grain free dog food?

I’m trying to switch my dog food for my Katahula and I found this grain free diet stuff…what’s the difference?

A lot of people are saying that dog’s don’t digest grain well and that it is not really necessary in their diets. If a food contains a lot of grains, it tends to have less of the nutrients that a dog needs. The grains also may be sourced from crops treated with pesticides and GMOs. In our Hypoallergenic dog food Guide we provide an in depth explanation of dogs and their ideal diets.

Also some grains may not be sourced in the United States but from other places which do not have restrictions on heavy metals or potentially toxic ingredients.
